Amelia’s Compendium of Fashion Illustration

One of my highlights of last year (woah can't believe it's 2011 already) was having the amazing opportunity to illustrate for Amelia's magazine. Its a really lovely magazine and I'm delighted to have my illos featured in it.

The book Amelia’s Compendium of Fashion Illustration is out now and features illustrations from some really lovely illustrators (some of whom I've had the pleasure of meeting and chatting to on twitter), such as Abby Wright, Abigail Daker, Antonia Parker, Emma Block, Faye West, Jenny Robins, Jo Cheung, Joana Faria, Natasha Thompson and Gareth A Hopkins and many more.

Here are some beautiful spreads from the book:

Print work from college

Some prints I did in college. The sketches are from the National History Museum which is just the coolest place! We sketched some animals and then we carved wood and copper metal and made prints.
Hope everyone has a lovely and creative New Year!!

Lears Quirky Limericks

This is the first book I got printed professionally and bound. Whoop. This is my self initiated final year project. I chose a selection of 8 of my favourite Edward Lear's limericks and illustrated them in a more contemporary way than years before when a black and white sketch was used. I used illustration, and collage with a strong use of pattern and texture.

You can see the individual illustrations here. Such a fun project to do :)

Tortoise and the Hare

Our brief was to design a tale or story. I chose an Aesops Fable, the Tortoise and the Hare, I like the story and the moral at the end. I illustrated the story by illustration, collage and photography and hand bound the book myself. I was happy with the result and my lecturers said it looked a bit Eric Carl-esque which is such a compliment :)

Here are the individual illos if you'd like to check them out here.

The end!!!!!

Reindeer inspired!

I love reindeers, reindeer prints and patterns. So thought it would be nice to have a reindeer inspired post at this festive time.
