Something *NEW*

Ooh dear I haven't blogged in so long. I have quite a few illustrations finished, and some are still being worked on.....

This illo was inspired by a cute fashion shoot I came across with Alexa Chung wearing Christopher Kane... like hello! Could illustrate this man's fashion all day long. And Alexa Chung... don't get me started...

Thought I would do a quick 'Process of...' for a change I took a few quick snaps to show how I got to the finished piece....

Firstly, I drew a quick sketch, scanned it into my computer and digitally drew the illustration...

Then painted my pattern then scanned in again and added to illustration.... (I usually use collage, patterns not painting but I wanted to try watercolour for a change)

Then some final touches, adding of colour, background....

And voila! What do you think? Do you think I should work more with new techniques like watercolour?

What would you like to see more of on the blog? I'd love to know! :)

Eeeeep have a lovely Sunday!

Artbox File New Illustrators Issue Vol. 10

These are my pages from the book Artbox The Illustrators' Issue. A few months back, Yuji from ART BOX, an art publishing company in Tokyo contacted me to see if I'd like to have my illustrations published in their new book as they had seen my work on Illustration Rally.

The book is an index-type book gathering about 100 Illustrators (mainly Japanese) currently active on the japanese illustration art scene. So it was a great honour to be asked and to have my work featured in this book. And in Japan. Pretty amazing.

Thanks to Yuji and Artbox for this opportunity. xoxo

all photos taken by myself please do not use without permission.

Sunny Bristol!

I have been so busy lately but good busy. Here are some photos of a recent trip to Bristol with one of my best friends. Bristol's a really beautiful city I would recommend anyone to visit. The buildings are so amazing and there is some piece of beautiful architecture or colourful street art on every street. The harbour is so so pretty especially at night. There are lots of bars and restaurants to go to on the harbour and there are actual boats that you can sit and have dinner on, a particular favourite of ours was The Apple, a converted barge right on the water. We also sampled some local cider... as you do.. some of it was rather strong and we felt quite tipsy afterwards (probably wasn't the best idea to try 8% ciders before travelling to the airport). We also did some shopping, visited a food market, saw some castles, people-watched in the park, ate lots of yummy food, drank red wine and danced the nights away. What a fab weekend.

Where would you go for a nice weekend? Are city breaks the way to go now?

Let me know I'm so excited for a next city break away would love to know good places to go!
