Birdcage design

A recent illustration for a tattoo design. I designed a black and white and a colour version of the tattoo which consisted of an antique birdcage, roses, birds and a swirly frame and sunset in the distance.

Recent submission work

A recent work for a magazine that has been discontinued but I thought It would be nice to share my work anyway.

The theme was VERSUS. Each issue was centred around a different theme, with contributing artists and writers submitting a piece of work accompanied by a musical track of their choice.

Like follows:

Select a piece of music that fits your interpretation of the theme - 'versus'. Develop a graphical or written piece to accompany your choice of track. This can be as literal, or as abstract as you like. The important thing is that it can be represented in print (colour, or B&W). 

I chose Katy Perry's Hot n' Cold.

Toulouse Lautrec exhibition

We went to Cardiff Museum to see the new exhibition there of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec prints entitled High Kicks & Low Life. I highly recommend it. There isn't an enormous amount of prints (I wanted to see more) but his work is really lovely. I liked his posters the best. Lovely exhibition.

Most of T-L's work was printed using lithography. Here is a great article explaining it.

 I detest packing and unpacking and flying (unless its to a sunny, warm, beach-filled location)

  And yes I did make this poem up to procrastinate (oops). What are your thoughts on flying, waiting at airports etc?!

I detest  

 

Packing
And unpacking.
Catching planes.
Awaiting trains.
Sitting in airports
Out of sorts.
Security checks
Make me vex.
Check boarding gate,
Being late.
Slow walkers.
Loud talkers.
Cabin baggage
Sounds like cabbage.
Passports ready.
Plane unready.
People queue in mad rushes

Equals lots of moans and pushes.
Hot and bothered
Can't be bothered.
Find a seat
Window retreat.

Passengers fight over isles.
Fake flight attendant smiles.
Shit, how many hours is this flight?

Ticket cannot be right....
I think I'd rather walk.
